A Day in the Life of a Nevada Sales Director

I always knew I would end up in cannabis. Destined for the industry, my middle name, Pualani, means “heavenly flower” in Hawaiian. I learned about cannabis at a young age from my grandfather, a medical patient himself, who has experienced first-hand the benefits that cannabis brought to his quality of life. This inspired my passion for educating myself on quality cannabis products and brought me to where I am today.

Everyday is a new day working at Altitude Products. I am is the Nevada Sales Director for Altitude Products, bringing my extensive sales and customer service expertise to our team, clients, and partners. Originally hailing from the island of Oahu, I am a third generation cannabis enthusiast who truly believes in the healing powers of cannabis. As the Nevada Sales Director, my day to day varies but looks a little something like this. Monday, I’m in meetings all day, trying to finalize orders and get product delivered before the weekend comes. Tuesday, I’m up in Reno visiting dispensaries and taking tours of cultivations. Wednesday, I have a photo shoot for a new product we have launching. Thursday, I’m connecting with the community at Women Grow or networking at LVMMA. Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for patient appreciation days at our dispensary partners and Sundays I usually work from home and plan my attack for the coming week. If there is ever any downtime, you can find me creating and designing our weekly dispensary partner newsletter, planning a future pop up event, brainstorming new ideas for product development, educating myself on current trends in our market, etc. There ain’t no rest for the wicked and this astronaut is no exception.

I think my favorite part about this job is the fact that I get to help people.

How many people get to say that they can do that everyday? I have seen so many lives changed in a positive way because of cannabis, my grandfather in particular. Being a cancer survivor and medical patient himself, I learned about the medicinal benefits of cannabis at a young age from my grandfather. Being a medical marijuana patient helped him experience first-hand the many benefits that cannabis offers to his quality of life. This inspired my passion for educating myself on quality cannabis products and is why education is near and dear to my heart. Any time I have the chance to educate, I take it. Knowledge is power and even one conversation is enough to, no pun intended, “plant the seed.” That’s why I particularly adore the safe consumption guides we have put in our Weekend Boxes. Every month, it changes as the products do and provides a breakdown of each product we have in the Box. In addition to product and brand education, the safe consumption guide goes over common laws and knowledge that is sometimes miscommunicated in today’s society. I can’t tell you how many times a day people ask me if they can consume openly or on the strip. In Nevada, the only place it is legal to consume cannabis products is in a private residence. My hope is someday soon, we will have consumption lounges where tourists and locals alike can safely consume.
